The Canadian Federation of Students–Newfoundland and Labrador (CFS-NL) is the provincial component of the Canadian Federation of Students, representing post-secondary students across Newfoundland and Labrador. Through advocacy, organizing, and student-led campaigns, CFS-NL works to advance accessible, high-quality public post-secondary education and improve the lives of students throughout the province.
Position Overview
The Canadian Federation of Students–Newfoundland and Labrador (CFS-NL) is seeking a Campaign Graphic Designer to refresh and modernize the visual identity of CFS-NL's advocacy campaigns. Working closely with CFS-NL staff and the At-Large, the successful candidate will redesign campaign branding and develop a cohesive campaign branding package that can be used consistently across digital, print, outreach, and organizing materials.
This role is ideal for someone with knowledge of the student movement, student advocacy, and the work of CFS-NL. Experience in designing for advocacy organizations, non-profits, student unions, labour organizations, or social justice campaigns is considered an asset.
Responsibilities & Deliverables
The successful candidate will:
● Conduct an initial consultation with CFS-NL staff and the At-Large to review campaign goals, priorities, and existing materials.
● Review and revitalize up to eight existing CFS-NL campaigns.
● Develop updated visual identities for each campaign, including:
● Campaign logos or logo refreshes.
● Colour palettes and branding guidelines.
● Typography recommendations.
● Iconography and visual assets.
● Social media graphic templates.
● Print and outreach material templates.
● Ensure campaign branding aligns with CFS-NL's mission, values, and advocacy priorities.
● Create a campaign branding package that can be easily adapted by member local student unions.
● Present draft concepts and incorporate feedback throughout the design process.
● Work collaboratively and be receptive to feedback and revisions from CFS-NL representatives.
Project Terms
● An agreed-upon project timeline will be established at the beginning of the contract.
● Each campaign redesign will include up to three rounds of revisions.
● Additional revisions beyond the agreed scope may be negotiated separately.
● The successful candidate will provide final files in high-resolution formats, including SVG, PNG, JPG, and PDF.
● Ownership and copyright of final deliverables will transfer to CFS-NL upon final payment.

● A portfolio demonstrating experience with branding, graphic design, visual identity development, and general artwork.
● A brief cover letter outlining:
● Their experience with campaign design and branding.
● Their familiarity with the student movement and CFS-NL.
