Solidarity with Palestine

The Solidarity with Palestine campaign calls on Memorial University and CNA to divest from all companies complicit in the Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people and all weapons manufacturers.
The Canadian Federation of Students - Newfoundland and Labrador unequivocally supports the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and condemns the ongoing genocide being carried out by Israeli Forces in Gaza and the West Bank.
From May to July 2024, students camped outside and then subsequently inside the Arts and Administration Building to protest MUN's refusal to disclose their investments and divest from the genocide. After several weeks, Memorial disclosed their investments, and as of the most recent update the university had invested $[x] in complicit companies. In July 2024, the Board of Regents voted against divesting from these companies, despite them representing less than [0]% of their total investment portfolio.
CFS-NL supports MUN Students for Palestine in their actions, and will continue to advocate to MUN and CNA administration to develop policies excluding Israeli companies and other complicit investments.
