Canadian Federation of Students Newfoundland and Labrador
With more than 25,000 members at 5 students’ unions in Newfoundland and Labrador and over 500,000 members at 64 students’ unions across Canada, the Canadian Federation of Students is the voice of post-secondary education in the country.
Our Federation represents domestic and international students at the college, undergraduate and graduate levels, including full- and part-time students.

Fairness For International Students
In every single province across Canada, it is a condoned practice to charge exorbitant differential tuition fees for international students. We demand fairness.
The Canadian Mental Health Association has found that 20 percent of Canadians will personally experience a mental health issue in their life, with young people aged 15 to 24 more likely to experience mental health issues than any other age group.
Education is a Right
The Education is a Right Campaign was developed in response to a blatant attack on education in Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) that resulted in the end of a 20 year-long tuition freeze for NL students and exorbitant funding cuts to Post-Secondary Education.

After losing nearly three weeks of classes to strike action, students call on the MUNL Board of Regents to support the Senate's recommendation to refund students' tuition fees for this missed time. Show your support by sending a letter to decision makers calling for Tuition Refunds, NOW!

On November 8, 2023, college and university students all over Newfoundland and Labrador are taking part in rallies and actions as part of the Canadian Federation of Students’ campaign for free education.
Students Outraged by Memorial's Mismanagement of Funds
CFS-NL calls for accountability from Memorial University Administration following the release of the Auditor General’s report highlighting the extensive mismanagement of funds. Further, we call on the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to reinstate funding to the university with direct allocations of how it is to be spent to better support students, faculty, and the province.
